Take a log and a lathe and you can end up with some pretty stuff. Woodturning allows me to create useful and beautiful objects. Although the lathe is powered to spin the wood, everything I make is essentially made by hand. The process marries creativity, mechanical skill, technique, and patience to create a bowl or pen. |
